STRESZCZENIE
Niedrożność jelit (ileus) jest stanem chorobowym, w którym dochodzi do zahamowania przechodzenia treści jelitowej przez przewód pokarmowy. Jest schorzeniem wymagającym leczenia chirurgicznego w trybie nagłym. Pacjentka A. M. przyjęta do szpitala z rozpoznaniem niedrożności przewodu pokarmowego, który może doprowadzić do wielu powikłań, także do zgonu, dlatego rolą lekarza jest uświadomienie chorej zagrożeń wynikających z tej choroby. Natomiast wiodącą rolę powierza się pielęgniarce poprzez udzielanie świadczeń zapobiegawczych, diagnostycznych, rehabilitacyjnych oraz rozpoznaniu potrzeb zdrowotnych pacjentki i jej problemów pielęgnacyjnych. Uwzględniono również opiekę po zabiegu operacyjnym oraz edukację pacjentki i najbliższej rodziny, która przyczyni się do odzyskania przez chorą zdrowia

SUMMARY
Ileus is a condition where intestinal contents are obstructed from passing through the gastrointestinal tract. It is an affliction needing urgent surgical treatment. Patient A. M. was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of gastrointestinal obstruction which can lead to many complications and even death; that is why the role of the doctor is to make the patients aware of the risks of the disease. Whereas the leading role is given to the nurse through provision of preventive, diagnostic and rehabilitative services and recognition of the patients health needs and her nursing problems. Care after surgical treatment and education of the patient and immediate family, which will administer the patient’s return to full health, were also included.
